Midnight TrainSitting on the bench
at a lonely train station,
under the copper covering
listening to the gentle rain.
Deciding what to do
as I wait for the train,
to follow the tracks
or lay my own rails.
A whistle in the distance,
a faint light around the bend,
I stand up and walk to the edge.
I take a step back and look up,
the rain still falling,
no end in sight.
My umbrella by the bench
I leave it behind,
as well as my bag...
I begin to make my own way.

I'm going to find
my own path,
instead of waiting
on a sign.

where I have been,
not tomorrow
telling me where to go.
